The Rencontre Assyriologique Internationale (RAI) is a yearly five-day conference, open to all those who are interested in Assyriology and Near Eastern Archaeology. The RAI is organized by a different institution each year. During the five days the Rencontre is held, lectures about Near Eastern studies are presented by specialists from a range of disciplines of relevance to the ancient Near East.
The 2017 Rencontre will be held at the Philipps-Universität in Marburg (Germany) between 24th–28th July, on the topic of “Dealing with Antiquity: Past, Present & Future”
